The EUROFOODWATER Conference on Water in Food, is organised at Helsinki from 3 to 5 June 2012.
This will be the seventh Conference in a series of Workshops and conferences held in Ispra, Italy - 2000, Reims, France - 2002, Lausanne, Switzerland - 2004, Brussels, Belgium, Nürtingen, Germany – 2008 and Reims, France – 2010. This conference is becoming a regular event among technical meetings for engineers and scientists working in the fields of water determination, water activity and water interactions in Food.


Helsinki, the capital and largest city in Finland is a major political, educational, financial, cultural and research centre as well as one of northern Europe's major cities. Approximately 70% of foreign companies operating in Finland have settled in the Helsinki region. Helsinki was chosen to be the World Design Capital for 2012 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. The average high temperature in June is around 19 °C (66 °F) and the average low temperature around 11°C (52°F).


HOW TO REACH SCANDIC CONTINENTAL HELSINKI

From Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (distance 20 km): Take Finnair City Bus (http://media.finnair.com/files/pdf/FINNAIR_CITY_BUS_TIMETABLE.pdf) and get off the bus at the stop “Hesperian puisto – Hesperiaparken” which is just after passing Scandic Continental Helsinki.

From Helsinki train station (distance 2 km): Walk to Mannerheimintie and take for example Tram 10 or 4 and get off the tram at the stop “Hesperian puisto”. You can check the route in Journey Planner (http://www.reittiopas.fi/en/).
